Paw Patrol Live! “The Great Pirate Adventure” is bringing all the fun of the hit TV show to Indianapolis.

Presented by Nickelodeon and VStar Entertainment Group, the live theatrical production is set to play at the Murat Theatre for four performances Feb. 24-25, 2024.

The live show follows Ryder and his team of pups who go on adventures around Adventure Bay saving friends, pups and animals alike, Jenna Barricklo, spokesperson for Paw Patrol Live!, told the Recorder.

“The pups are celebrating Pirate Day,” Barricklo said. “And while on a mission to save their friend Captain Turbot, they discover a secret pirate treasure map that will lead them to a pirate treasure that they must find before Mayor Humdinger — their arch nemesis — finds it first.”

Barricklo said “The Great Pirate Adventure” is an interactive production and kids are encouraged to get up out of their seats, sing and dance along with the characters while helping solve for clues.

“It’s very nontraditional,” she said. “This is for them … We want kids helping us solve clues, singing and dancing, and so it is a highly interactive experience for them.”

One of the things that makes Paw Patrol so popular among kids ages 2-6 is the ability to see themselves in the characters on screen or onstage, Barricklo said.

“Each pup is really unique and has their own personality and set of skills, and kids can really relate to that,” Barricklo said. “We have a motto in the show that says ‘no job is too big, no pup is too small,’ and I think kids can really look to that and see that they can do anything they set their mind to no matter their age.”

As an educator herself, Barricklo said being a part of a production like Paw Patrol Live!, which is specifically geared towards kids, is special for her. Not only could it be one of their first theatre experiences, but it is something they will likely remember for the rest of their lives, Barricklo said.

“You can never have a bad show,” she said. “It is the best day of their lives, to get to see their favorite characters live on stage and they’re so excited.”

Paw Patrol Live! “The Great Pirate Adventure” takes place Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Murat Theatre at Old National Centre, 502 N. New Jersey St.
