IndyRent is accepting applications for rental assistance for up to 12 months. Previously, assistance was offered for up to three months. The City-County Council approved the expansion of benefits in September. The expansion was made possible with $91 million in rental assistance allocation from the Indiana Housing Community Development Authority.

Eligibility requirements include households at or below 80% of the area median income, have a reduction in earned income due to COVID-19 and are at risk of housing instability. Those who’ve previously received assistance are being contacted for the opportunity to access the expanded funds.

Applications are available at IndyRent.org. An FAQ and resources for landlords and tenets are available here.
