Local college students have an opportunity to receive a $2,500 grant and nine months of leadership development training through the Leading Excellence & Amplifying Diversity (LEAD) Scholarship Program from Northwestern Mutual Indiana.

The program is open to two students from each of the following universities: DePauw University, Marian University, University of Indianapolis and IUPUI.

Applications are open now through May 1. Applicants must attend one of the four colleges participating in the program and must identify as African American or Black. Interested applicants should send resumes to lead@nm.com and include a 250-word (maximum) response to the question, ā€œWhy is this program important to you?ā€

Northwestern Mutual Indiana has committed to investing $90,000 in the scholarship program over the next three years.

“Weā€™re excited to help this new generation of African American leaders graduate with the skills they need to actively pursue their dreams,” said Justin Ruetz, managing director of Northwestern Mutualā€™s Zionsville office.
