Rhonda Bayless has dedicated her professional life to addressing health disparities among — and advocating for — women of color.
“It is my vision to develop doorways for women to walk through to invest in themselves,” Bayless explains on her blog.
To that end, Bayless founded The Center of Wellness for Urban Women (CWUW), a nonprofit that works to empower women in urban areas to take an active role in improving and maintaining their health through education, advocacy, prevention and care.
CWUW programs focus on “7 Dimensions of Wellness,” which include physical, spiritual, environmental, occupational, intellectual, emotional and social.
Bayless, a graduate of Franklin College and Warren Central High School, has previously put her skills to work at other nonprofits, including the Damien Center and Girls Inc.
