Five Native American artists have been selected for the 2025 Eiteljorg Contemporary Art Fellowship. Each artist will receive $50,000, and the museum will purchase more than $100,000 of their artworks to add to its contemporary Native art collection.
Beginning Nov. 20, 2025, paintings, prints, installations, sculptures and assemblages by the artists will be on view at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. The exhibition continues until February 2026.
The 2025 Eiteljorg Fellows are:
- Jean LaMarr, whose printmaking, paintings, assemblages, murals and installations challenge stereotypes and misrepresentations of Native women and peoples.
- John Feodorov, whose works explore surrealism in paintings, drawings, 3-D artworks and video performances.
- Erin Ggaadimits Ivalu Gingrich, who draws inspirations from her heritage through carved, painted and beaded sculptures and mask forms, as well as photography, film, installation, poems and design.
- Maria Hupfield, whose practices are in performance art, sculptures and installations.
- Cannupa Hanska Luger, whose visual storytelling blend of science fiction and personal experiences are told through installations, sculptures and performances.
“The Eiteljorg Contemporary Art Fellowship is an example of how museums can amplify and celebrate the voices of contemporary artists. The 2025 class of Fellows is an exceptional group of artists, whose work we are honored to share with the world,” said Kathryn Haigh, Eiteljorg president and CEO. ”The 2025 Fellowship exhibition provides an opportunity to experience the bold, cutting-edge contemporary Native art that the Eiteljorg is known for.”
