The WNBA has announced a multi-year deal with Boost Mobile to place ads on player jerseys for 10 of its 12 teams, including the Indiana Fever.
The Boost corporate logo will appear front and center on player jerseys right below their number.
WNBA President Laurel Richie says sponsored uniforms are “absolutely” an idea whose time has finally come. She called the “marquee” partnership with Boost the biggest in the 15-year history of the league.
Two teams – the Phoenix Mercury and San Antonio Silver Stars – won’t wear the Boost logo because of conflicts with existing mobile sponsors. WNBA clubs in Phoenix, Seattle, Los Angeles, Washington and New York have cut individual deals to place a corporate logo on player jerseys in recent years. So some teams will feature multiple logos on their jerseys.
In addition to the Fever, the nine teams that will have the Boost logo on their uniforms are Atlanta, Chicago, Connecticut, Los Angeles, Minnesota, New York, Seattle, Tulsa and Washington.
