A telemarketing company has reversed its decision to close an Indiana call center where about 200 people work.
Indianapolis-based TeleServices Direct had notified workers at its Lafayette call center in February that it would close in early April. But company executive Steve Lair tells WLFI-TV that the center will remain open as other expenses have been reduced.
About 80 people left the company after the branch closing was announced, leaving some 200 workers.
Employee Melinda Glenn says job searching has been difficult during the last two months as she found few businesses that are hiring.
