More by this author

INDIANAPOLIS – More than 35 percent of U.S. seniors fall victim to fraud, says the Retirement Industry Trust Association. It’s why the Indiana SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol) is presenting a seminar to teach Indianapolis seniors how to detect, prevent and report fraud.

The free fraud seminar is S.A.F.E. (Scams, Abuse, Fraud and Exploitation), to be held Friday, June 15 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.

Expert speakers at the seminar will include the Indiana Attorney General Office, Indiana Secretary of State Office, IMPD and more, with Kenneth Munson, Region V Director for Health and Human Services as the keynote speaker. S.A.F.E. will also include a prescription drug turn-in program for expired medications with law enforcement as well as a free paper-shredding event for personal documents.

For more information, contact Tamra Simpson at (317) 205-9201 or tsimpson@iaaaa.org. To register for S.A.F.E., call (317) 205-9201 or visit www.iaaaa.org/smp.
