Manager Dean Treanor, hitting coach Jeff Branson, pitching coach Tom Filer and trainer Bryan Housand will all return to the Indianapolis Indians coaching staff in 2012.

Treanor will be at the helm for his second season as Tribe manager, while Branson will be back for his fourth year as hitting coach and Filer and Housand will both be entering their second season in Indy.

“The Indians are very pleased to have our staff returning for the 2012 season, ” says Indians Vice President and General Manager Cal Burleson. “We are indeed fortunate that the Pirates organization has provided us with such outstanding leadership for the 2012 campaign.”

Treanor, who is entering his 25th season as a coach/manager in professional baseball, led the Indians to 76-68 record and second place finish in the International League West Division in 2011. After a 9-21 start, the Indians bounced back to post a league best 67-47 record after May 8 and remained in the playoff race until the final days of the season.

The Tribe’s 76-68 record and second place finish in the IL West Division were the best marks for the Indians since 2006, when they finished tied for first in the Division with a 76-66 record. In 2011, Treanor and the Tribe coaching staff also saw 31 players wear both an Indians and Pirates uniform and sent 10 on to make their Major League debut.
