The Athenaeum Foundation will host its second annual Summer Soiree, the organization’s food and drink fundraising event, at the historic Athenaeum from 5:30-9 p.m. on July 9, 2015.
The Summer Soiree fundraiser is a friendly competition between five of Indy’s best chefs and restaurants, who must each provide a sample-sized appetizer paired with a wine and a beer from local breweries and wineries. Each guest is given a chance to vote for their favorite and the winner is crowned victor of the best pairing.
This year’s hosts include last year’s champion, Chef Joseph, as well as Union 50, Shoefly Public House, Sushi Boss and Oakley’s Bistro. In addition to these restaurants, the Athenaeum will host wine and beer from Mallow Run Winery, Chateau de Pique, Harmony Winery, Rettig Hill, Sun King, TwoDEEP Brewing Co., Fountain Square Brewery, Turtle Run Winery and Bier Brewery.
“Our fundraiser is not only fun, but a wonderful way to share delicious dishes and drinks with friends and raise money for the operation of our wonderful old building, the Athenaeum,” said Cassie Stockamp, president of the Athenaeum Foundation.
In addition to food and drink, there will be a variety of performers including Chatham Heart, DJ Kyle Long, El Cameron Electronico, Eva Extravaganza, No Exit and more.
The Summer Soiree is a business-casual event exclusive to A-list members who are 21 and over. Tickets may be purchased online at www.athenaeumfoundation.org. Tickets are $85 each or $150 for two. Proceeds will benefit the maintenance and upkeep of the Athenaeum, one of Indianapolis’ most treasured historic landmarks.
