May is Mental Health Month

More by this author

May is Mental Health Month, and Mental Health America of Greater Indianapolis believes that not only should those who need help know how and where to find it, but that they should be educated and coached on learning how to achieve permanent wellness through prevention.

Wellness encompasses the notion of balance in one’s life among the mental, physical and emotional elements of health. A person who has achieved this sense of wellness can be fully engaged in their family and community.

“Life can be full of stress and worry, and it’s easy to become overwhelmed. We want people to know that there are things they can do to face difficult times with greater resiliency. Our 24-hour crisis line, (317) 251-0005, offers support and information on topics ranging from stress, depression, suicide intervention and addictions, to general information and referrals,” said Gina Hays, chief executive officer.

There are tested tools available that can help any person facing difficult times and challenges.
