Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is partnering with Dear Fathers to host the Dads to Doulas Marion County Workshop.
The workshop is a daylong event designed to equip fathers with tools to support their partners during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond.

The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Fathers and Family Center, 2835 North Illinois St. in Indianapolis.
Organizers say the event will highlight the important role fathers play in improving health outcomes for both mothers and babies. Participants will learn about the physiological process of pregnancy and birth, best practices in the delivery room and ways to effectively advocate for their partners and newborns.
The program is tailored specifically to equip Black fathers with “doula-level” knowledge through interactive, hands-on sessions. By providing education and resources, the event aims to build confidence and prepare fathers to be supportive advocates throughout pregnancy, delivery and the early stages of parenthood.

Representatives from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Dear Fathers and several community partners will be present to lead the sessions and connect participants with resources.
