A new faith-based drama academy is now accepting students for its inaugural season.

Audience of One Theatre Ministry, a faith-based performing arts organization in Indianapolis, announced on July 1 that its new drama academy Summer Session is now accepting applications. The Drama Academy, which invites students of all skill levels, ages 8-18, to explore the performing arts through the lens of faith and purpose, runs July 18-Sept. 6 at the First Baptist Church North Indianapolis, according to a press release.

“Our Drama Academy is about more than just teaching kids how to hit their cues or memorize lines,” Tracy Carson, academy coordinator, said in a statement. “It’s about helping them discover their unique, God-given voices and giving them the tools to share powerful, redemptive stories both on and off the stage.”

Audience of One Theatre Ministry presents high-quality productions, workshops and academy training for the community to ā€œimpact the culture by raising up the next generation of Christian artists to perform with integrity, passion, and a higher purpose,ā€ according to a press release.

The Drama Academy is designed to help children and teens develop talents in acting, singing, dancing, public speaking and theatrical production. Throughout the Summer Session, participants will not only gain stage experience but have the opportunity to work on leadership and teamworking skills, make new friends and grow spiritually through faith-based instruction, according to a press release.

The ministry’s core mission and vision are inspired by the Bible passage in Colossians 3:23 and encourage students ā€œto work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for human approval,ā€ according to a press release.

The inaugural season presents a specialized curriculum designed to develop well-rounded storytellers, according to a press release. The 2026 Summer Session classes include acting fundamentals, character development, improvisation, stage movement, voice and diction, singing techniques, script interpretation and more.

At the end of the season, students will present what they have learned in a musical production titled ā€œThe Born Again Identity.ā€ The show takes place at 7 p.m. on Sept. 4-5 and at 5 p.m. on Sept. 6.
