The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Joa’Quinn Griffin, MPA, CFRM, CNP, as the organization’s new Area Development Director for the Indiana office. Griffin joined UNCF on Monday, August 3, 2026, bringing extensive experience in fundraising, nonprofit leadership, higher education advancement and community engagement to the role.
As Area Development Director, Griffin will lead fundraising and development efforts throughout Indiana, cultivating relationships with donors, corporations, foundations and community partners to advance UNCF’s mission of investing in students and expanding access to educational opportunity.
We are thrilled to welcome Joa’Quinn Griffin to UNCF. His depth of experience in higher education advancement, fundraising and donor engagement, coupled with his personal commitment to educational opportunity, makes him an excellent addition to our team. We look forward to his leadership as we continue to strengthen UNCF’s presence and impact throughout Indiana.
Prior to joining UNCF, Griffin served as Director of Development for the Indiana University School of Nursing, where he secured philanthropic support across Indiana University’s Bloomington, Fort Wayne and Indianapolis campuses. Previously, he served with the Indiana University Foundation, supporting fundraising and donor engagement across eight IU campuses and collaborating with more than 45 university units to advance institutional fundraising priorities.
A proud first-generation college graduate and native of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Griffin’s commitment to educational opportunity is deeply rooted in his own personal journey. He earned both his Master of Public Affairs and Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs from Indiana University’s O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. He also earned a Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM) from The Fund Raising School at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
Griffin’s professional experience and commitment to philanthropy position him to build meaningful partnerships throughout Indiana and help advance UNCF’s work to ensure students have access to the resources, scholarships and programs needed to succeed.
