Indiana walkers can help reverse an alarming trend one step at a time this fall.
The Indiana Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes will raise awareness that one in four Hoosiers who has diabetes doesnāt know it. The walk will be Sept. 21, at Celebration Plaza at White River State Park, located in Downtown Indianapolis across from NCAA headquarters.
The walk offers both 5K and 2-mile routes along the Downtown canal. Participants will walk in honor and celebration of Red Striders (Step Out participants who are living with diabetes) and in memory of those who have passed away due to complications of the disease.
Step Out will also offer a Health Pavilion including: education, advocacy, as well as snacks, games, prizes, and activities for all ages and abilities.
Funds raised at the Step Out Walk will support the American Diabetes Association.
