Representatives from Indianapolis M.A.C. stores presented a check for $71,093 to the Indiana AIDS Fund yesterday in support of the 2013 Indiana AIDS Walk, bringing the total raised to $268,982, the largest single-year amount raised in the event’s 18-year history.

“M.A.C. AIDS Fund is one of the trend-setters when it comes to AIDS fundraising,” said Nagler, Director of Development for the Indiana AIDS Fund. “We are thrilled that they recognize how our emergency assistance funding fills the gaps left from other funding sources and chose to support our efforts in Indiana.”
Annually, nearly 1,000 people participate in the annual AIDS Walk to raise funds for the Gregory R. Powers Direct Emergency Financial Assistance (DEFA) program. DEFA provides needed assistance to HIV/AIDS patients in emergency situations through AIDS service organizations across the state that provide hands-on care management and assistance. Approximately 10,000 Hoosiers are living with HIV/AIDS.
Talbott Street was the presenting sponsor for Indiana AIDS Walk 2013.
