Cars-N-Gravy returns July 15 to bring Central Indianapolis family fun, friends, stellar cars and homestyle cuisines.

The event is held by Friends of 38th Street, a nonprofit with a focus on championing 38th Street in Indianapolis. The organization was formed to boost awareness of the successes and obstacles the 38th Street community faces. Friends of 38th Street signifies the wonderful neighborhoods bordering 38th Street concurrently with festivities, unique business opportunities and social events for all.

Moreover, the nonprofit advocates for improved infrastructure, including the historical 38th Street that runs laterally throughout Indianapolis.

Cars-N-Gravy invites neighbors of midtown neighborhoods to bring their best cars and mingle with community members. Neighbors also have a chance to indulge in some homestyle biscuits and gravy.

Midtown neighborhoods include Butler-Tarkington, Meridian Kessler, Mapleton-Fall Creek and Crown Hill. However, all Hoosiers are welcome at Cars-N-Gravy.

Additionally, Cars-N-Gravy supports the Soul Food Project, a nonprofit urban farm located in Indianapolis. The mission of the Soul Food Project is to promote wellness in the community by expanding access to local food, providing hands-on education and furnishing a creative outlet for artists.

The event begins at 9 a.m. at the former Indiana National Bank located near the intersection of 38th and Washington Blvd. For those who can’t attend Cars-N-Gravy in July, Friends of 38th Street will also host another Cars-N-Gravy event on September 16 and October 21.
