Advanced academics: High school students take on college before graduation

More by this author

Graduation season is upon us, but for five GEO Next Generation Academy students, there will be more than one stage to walk across this year. Taking classes throughout their high school career, these students are set to have earned associate degrees from Ivy Tech by the time of their senior graduation.

Some of the students, while not quite earning their associate degrees, have been awarded the Indiana College Core degree. The Indiana College Core is a degree that is the beginning of a bachelorā€™s degree and is guaranteed to transfer to any Indiana public four-year college or university.
