The Indiana Fever has selected Stanford guard Jeanette Pohlen† with the ninth pick in the WNBA Draft. An Associated Press first-team All-American and the Pac-10 Player of the Year, Pohlen guided the Cardinals to the NCAA Final Four where it lost in the national semifinal to eventual champion Texas A&M. As a senior, the 6-0 point guard averaged 15.8 points and 4.8 assists per game while leading Stanford to a 33-3 record and a top three national ranking for the season.
