Gov. Mike Braun has appointed Jared Prentice to serve as Indiana’s Inspector General.
The role of the Inspector General is to reduce fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement and wrongdoing in executive branch agencies through education, advice, investigations and prosecutions. The role is designed to encourage integrity and public confidence in state government.

Prior to his appointment, Prentice served as an attorney in both public and private roles.
Prentice’s role at the Indiana Department of Revenue led him to establish the agency’s compliance department. Prentice then took his skills to Elevance Health, where he led their records and information management program, partnering with business stakeholders to ensure record governance and oversight. Recently, Prentice joined Deloitte Services, leading their records and contract compliance, reporting and artificial intelligence functions.
Prentice also serves as the executive vice president of Business Ethics Indiana, an organization that promoted ethical business practices and provides professional development to strengthen Indiana’s business ethics.

“Jared Prentice will be an excellent Inspector General for the State of Indiana,” Braun said. “His experience and passion for an ethical and compliance driven culture will align perfectly with our efforts to improve government efficiency for taxpayers. I am proud to appoint such an accomplished individual. Jared is going to do great things for the State of Indiana.”
