Agnes Aleobua has been hired as the principal for grades 7-9 at TC Howe school in Indianapolis, Charter Schools USA announced this week.
Aleobua brings significant experience to the turnaround efforts at Howe, according to Charter Schools USA’s announcement. She has worked in both instructional and leadership positions at urban schools across the country.
“Agnes has a high level of energy and the experience needed to make Howe a powerful high performing neighborhood school,” said Sherry Hage, vice president of education at Charter Schools USA. “We want the brightest, most dedicated educators in the country working at our schools here in Indianapolis, and Agnes has these qualities and more.”
Aleobua most recently was the founding principal of the University Yes Academy in Detroit. She is also an alumnus of Teach for America. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Education.
In addition to TC Howe, Charter Schools USA was selected by the Indiana Department of Education to turnaround both Manual High School and Emma Donnan Middle School. Charter Schools USA assumes control of these facilities on July 1.
