More by this author

The Millennium Falcon, Luke’s Landspeeder, and an intergalactic selection of props, costumes and models from all six Star Wars films have landed in Marion County at the Indiana State Museum, 650 W. Washington St.

The public will get its first glimpse of this immensely popular, vividly imagined exhibition opening May 24 right before the stroke of midnight for the Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination midnight event. The party ends at 4 a.m.

There will be food, fun and more as Star Wars fans turn Opening Night for Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination into an out-of-this-world experience!

Intrepid guests can step inside a full-size replica of the Millennium Falcon cockpit for a four and a half-minute journey into outer space narrated by Anthony Daniels, the voice of C-3PO and featuring requisite rumbling sound effects, fans and lights.

Admission is $50 per person and includes entry into the museum and exhibit, light snacks, beverages, fantasy games, the Millennium Falcon experience and free parking in the White River State Park Garage.

You must RSVP by May 20. Cancellations made after that date will be acknowledged as a tax deductible contribution made to the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites.
