Fever crumble to Lynx late, 90-83

Aliyah Boston had 22 points and nine rebounds as the Indiana Fever fell to the Minnesota Lynx 90-83 on July 5.

Boston, the two-time WNBA Rookie of the Month and an All-Star, recorded 16 of her 22 points in the first half, which set a new career best for most points in a half.

NaLyssa Smith added 18 points and 11 rebounds for Indiana. In terms of rebounds, Smith and Boston hold the second and eighth spots in the league, respectively.

Napheesa Collier led all scorers with 32 points for the Lynx, who earned their fourth consecutive win. Kayla McBride added 21 points, and Lindsay Allen had 16 points and six assists. Currently, Collier ranks third in the league in points per contest.

The Fever shot 46.2% from the field, but they were just 4-of-13 from a 3-point range. The Lynx shot 48.3% from the field and 40% from 3-point range.

The Fever also shot well from the charity stripe, knocking down 13 of 14 shots (93%).

Additionally, Fever All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell dished out the 500th dime of her career.

Indiana led by as many as five points in the third quarter, but the Lynx responded with a 10-2 run to take a 71-64 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Fever cut the lead to five points with 2:30 remaining, but Minnesota held on for the victory. The Lynx held Indiana to 31% shooting during the fourth.

The Fever (5-12) have lost five of their last six games. The Lynx (8-9) are now 4-0 against Indiana this season.

Indiana travels to Washington to take on the Mystics on July 7 at 7 p.m. EST.
