As anyĀ immigrant I believe we all had dark periods on our journey that are full of discrimination, abuse, rejection and intolerance, but I would like to focus on the opposite, the hundreds of people that extended their hand and help me to adjust to the culture without losing my identity, the rules of society, what is acceptable and what is not, people that saw my potential and guided me, Ā by showing me what I needed to do to improve and it was up to me if I want to take the challenge or stay where I was.Ā
From my humble beginnings where the language was a barrier, Ā the labor was extremely physical, and the culture was new, now as a commercial photographer at Chapital Photography Iām able Ā to help individuals and organizations to meet their goals by sharing my knowledge and/or providing professional images that reflect their true personality of what they do and why they do it.Ā
Now Iām feel happy to be part of my community by being a part of my kidsā school PTO, volunteering at many nonprofit organizations and being the head of an organization that promotes Mexican culture in my city.
We should talk more about the good people that make their communities better by doing good to anyone in their way just like they did to this grateful immigrant from Mexico.
In memory of my mother Victoria Gonzalez Hernandez ( 11-07-1949 to 09-24-2023 )Ā
All she wanted was a better future for me.
