With the Indiana Primary Election around the corner on May 7, the Indianapolis Recorder has composed a quick rundown of the who’s who on the ballot in 2024.
Race for Indiana Governor
Six Republican candidates aim to succeed the outgoing Governor of Indiana Eric Holcomb. They are as follows:
Mike Braun, the current junior U.S. Senator from Indiana
Suzanne Crouch, the current Lieutenant Governor of Indiana
Brad Chambers, former Secretary of Commerce
Eric Doden, Fort Wayne entrepreneur and businessman
Curtis Hill, former Indiana Attorney General
Jamie Reitenour, political newcomer
Democratic candidates
Jennifer McCormick, the former state schools superintendent, is the presumptive Democratic nominee for governor as the only Democrat on the ballot.
Independent candidates:
Donald Rainwater, the Libertarian candidate who earned approximately 11.4% of the vote in the 2020 gubernatorial election, is also back on the ballot this year.
U.S. Senate Election
Voters in Indiana will elect one member to the U.S. Senate in the general election on November 5, 2024. The primary for this seat is also on May 7.
U.S. House of Representatives Elections
- On November 5, 2024, voters will elect nine candidates to serve in the U.S. House from each of Indiana’s nine U.S. House districts. The primary for these elections is also on May 7.
