IPS moves some schools to e-learning for rest of the week

More by this author

IPS high schools and stand-alone middle schools will move to full remote learning from Jan. 13-14 because of staffing limitations.

Middle schools that will go to virtual:

  • Arlington Middle School
  • Harshman Middle School
  • Henry W. Longfellow Medical/STEM Middle School 28
  • Northwest Middle School (including Newcomer)

High schools:

  • Arsenal Technical High School
  • Crispus Attucks High School
  • George Washington High School
  • Shortridge High School

The district said staff absences include COVID-19 quarantine and isolations.

Students won’t be back in school until Jan. 19 (Jan. 17 is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Jan. 18 is a professional development day), so the district hopes an extended break from in-person learning will give enough time for students and staff to meet the five-day isolation and quarantine guidelines.
