Heath Outdoor, a family-owned landscaping business on the near east side, is looking for proposals for its next Juneteenth Day of Service project on Jun. 19.
In June 2022, Heath Outdoor completed beautification projects for two Indianapolis schools. Employees and volunteers renovated the outdoor play area at The Oaks Academy Middle School and added a play area to The Oaks Academy Brookside.
Heath Outdoor staff members want to take on another project this year. They’re seeking ideas to enhance an outdoor space in Indianapolis to encourage people to gather there, which they hope will help build community.
They want to hear from directors and staff of parks, schools, community and recreation centers, churches, and other neighborhood organizations. The company is looking for submissions from public entities, nonprofit organizations and private businesses that serve and are part of the local Black community.
Applicants can start the process by filling out this online form before the deadline on March 1, 2023.
