From 5:30 – 7 p.m. on Oct. 1, the Edna Martin Christian Center, KIPP Indy Public Schools, Brightwood Community Center, Martindale Brightwood Education Zone and IndyEast Promise Neighborhood will host a public Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) forum to discuss the school board candidates. The event will take place at Legacy High School, at 2255 Ralston Avenue on the east side of Indianapolis.
The forum aims to foster a community-led, student-centered discussion, providing a platform for constituents to engage with candidates running for District 1, District 2, District 4 and At-Large seats.
The forum will be moderated by Editor-in-Chief of the Indianapolis Recorder Camike Jones. The event will also feature a Q&A format.
Questions for the candidates will be based on feedback from surveys and focus groups.
Attendees must RSVP by Sept. 27 to secure their seat at the forum. For more information or to RSVP, click here or contact Martha Cortes at mcortes@kippindy.org.
