They’re coming back to Indiana when the WNBA Championship game ends and Indiana Fever fans will get their first chance to greet and cheer the team at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND). The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) is excited to invite the public to join us for a Welcome Back Rally for the Indiana Fever this Thursday in the airport’s Civic Plaza. Fans should be in place by 11:45 a.m. to welcome the team home following Wednesday night’s final game.
In search of their second WNBA championship in four seasons, the Indiana Fever are also hosting a viewing party for Wednesday’s decisive Game 5 in Minnesota, at the Ale Emporium (8617 Allisonville Road). Fans are encouraged to wear RED for the viewing party that begins at 7:30 p.m. Game 5 of the WNBA Finals begins at 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
Following the championship game, the Fever will return to Indianapolis International Airport just before noon on Thursday. The Indianapolis Airport Authority will launch the Welcome Back Rally at Civic Plaza when the team arrives. Fans can share their Fever fervor and also get complimentary snacks and Starbucks coffee.
The Fever Playoffs are presented by Old National Bank. The Fever won Game 4 on Sunday and hope to defeat the Minnesota Lynx again in Game 5 to capture the WNBA title, the same as they did in 2012 when the Fever beat the Lynx for their first championship and the first pro basketball championship in Indiana since the ABA Indiana Pacers in 1973.
Participating in their WNBA-record 11th consecutive postseason, the Fever have more playoff victories (35) than any franchise in WNBA history.
