Having lunch can quickly turn into a normal routine of the usual sandwich with chips or a microwavable meal. But why settle for the typical lunch when Red Lobster offers their seafood lunch specials for only $6.99?
Red Lobster’s scenery is like stepping onto a “Little Mermaid” set. The lobster tank, anchor and dark atmosphere sets the under the sea mood. I was promptly seated and served cheese biscuits. The hot, steamy biscuits were the kind of biscuits only your grandmother can cook.
I ordered the Cajun Chicken Linguini Alfredo a spicy, tender chicken breast tossed in a garlic Parmesan cream sauce on a bed of linguini. The plate was picture perfect but it was quickly destroyed as I indulged in the meal.
The zesty meal had my taste buds dancing within minutes of its consumption. Of course you can’t have a meal without a beverage. I recommend the Sunset Strawberry Smoothie, a cold, berry delightfully trapped inside a tall glass, with a plump strawberry tossed on top.
If you are extremely hungry you should definitely order their Warm Chocolate Chip Lava Cookie, a thick chocolate chip cookie with a molten chocolate center, topped with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. The lip smacking dessert is enough to share with two people and every bite is a guilty pleasure.
Other options on the menu include Crunch-Fried Fish Sandwich, a fish on a toasted sourdough roll with melted Monterey Jack, lettuce and tomatoes, served with freshly cooked potato chips.
Also try some of their lunch classics such as the Sailor’s Platter, hand-breaded fried shrimp, garlic shrimp scampi and an oven-broiled fish fillet. Or be creative and invent your own lunch. The crafty options are limitless and should be explored.
