Gov. Mike Braun reflected on his first 100 days in office, highlighting accomplishments from his Freedom and Opportunity agenda. Joined by his cabinet and legislative leaders, Braun outlined key achievements across fiscal policy, education, health care and public safety.
“In 100 days, we’ve made tremendous progress on the Freedom & Opportunity agenda: cutting taxes, giving parents more choice in education, drawing a clear line against extreme wokeness and illegal immigration, putting public safety first and making state government more efficient, transparent and accountable to work harder for you,” Braun said.

Braun highlighted the following accomplishments by his administration:
- Fiscal responsibility: The administration passed a balanced biennial budget, maintained Indiana’s AAA credit rating and implemented nearly $1.5 billion in property tax relief for homeowners, farmers and small businesses.
- Government efficiency: State agencies were directed to cut 25% of regulations, find cost savings, and create new cabinet offices to improve efficiency and accountability.
- Health initiatives: Braun launched the “Make Indiana Healthy Again” initiative, focusing on improving health care price transparency, reducing taxpayer subsidies for unhealthy products and promoting access to nutritious food from local farms.
- Education reform: Universal school choice was expanded, teacher pay was increased and measures were taken to ensure age-appropriate curricula and accountability metrics in schools.
- Public safety: New legislation increased penalties for drug dealers and repeat violent offenders while addressing conditions for correctional officers.
Braun also positioned Indiana as a leader in nuclear energy, securing its role as host of the 2025 National Governors Association Nuclear Summit.
Braun’s agenda has not been without its critics.
Fiscal conservatives have raised concerns that property and income tax cuts could strain local budgets and public services. Meanwhile, progressive groups have criticized cuts to public health funding and new work requirements for Medicaid recipients, arguing these measures may reduce access to essential health services for vulnerable populations.
Braun’s stance on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) has also sparked debate. His administration’s decision to eliminate DEI initiatives in state government was met with opposition from civil rights organizations, which argue the move undermines efforts to address systemic inequities.
Additionally, Braun has drawn attention for issuing 63 executive orders in his first 100 days, surpassing the totals of previous governors. Critics view this as an overreach of executive authority, though Braun contends it was necessary to enact swift reforms.
