The Indy Health District is launching its 2025 Floating Farmers Market series Friday, May 30, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Ruth Lilly Center parking lot, located at 21st Street and Capitol Avenue.

This community-centered event aims to enhance access to fresh, affordable food and essential health services for residents in the district’s five primary neighborhoods: Crown Hill, Historic Flanner House Homes, Highland Vicinity, Meridian Highland and Ransom Place.

Organized in partnership with Harvest 2 Home Indy, a local business led by Danita Hoskin — president of the Crown Hill Neighborhood Association — the market series reflects a commitment to supporting small business incubation and local entrepreneurship as drivers of community health and stability.

Attendees can look forward to a variety of offerings from local vendors, including fresh produce, seeds and even haircuts. Participating vendors include The Elephant Garden, Small Town Produce, From the Ground Up Goods, H3r Story, Flavor by Faith, Touba Gardens, Flanner House Farms, 3 Sisters Garden and Mother Loves Garden. Additionally, Indiana University Health will provide free health screenings on-site, further promoting community wellness.

The Floating Farmers Market series is designed to bring fresh, nutritious, locally grown produce directly to neighborhoods within the district, offering an efficient, community-driven approach to food access that honors residents’ voices. By delivering these resources directly to the community, the initiative seeks to address food insecurity and promote healthier lifestyles among residents.
