Philosopher, author and political activist Cornel West will join Earlham College for a virtual lecture and conversation about late novelist Toni Morrison. Morrison, who was the first Black woman to win the Nobel Prize, is known for writing about Black identity and experience.
West’s lecture, “The sublime legacy of Toni Morrison” will start at 7 p.m. Feb. 4. James Logan, Earlham’s interim academic dean and professor of religion and director of the African American Studies Program, will moderate the conversation with West.
“For Black History Month, Earlham is privileged to have one of the country’s most preeminent public intellectuals and advocates of love in action, Cornel West,” Logan said. “… We are beyond excited to remember and celebrate with West the literary genius, audacious courage and spectacular cultural wit of the great Toni Morrison.”
The lecture is free and open to the public. Click here to register.
