LAWRENCE, IN – The City of Lawrence is launching the Lawrence Neighborhood Hub, a new initiative designed to strengthen community engagement, support neighborhood associations and provide direct access to city resources. The Hub serves as a formal registry for neighborhood and homeowners associations, ensuring they receive the support needed to thrive.

“The Lawrence Neighborhood Hub empowers our neighborhoods to be active participants in shaping their future,” Mayor Deb Whitfield said. “The goal is to help residents connect, collaborate, and create positive change. This initiative also provides a direct line between residents and city government, ensuring stronger, more connected communities.”

Neighborhood associations play a vital role in ensuring that residents’ concerns are heard where it matters most. Whether organizing safety initiatives, advocating for infrastructure improvements, leading beautification projects, or fostering a sense of belonging, these associations help transform neighborhoods into thriving, engaged communities. The Neighborhood Hub provides guidance, resources and a Neighborhood Toolkit to support associations in governance, engagement, and sustainability.

Lawrence recognizes eight distinct neighborhoods that contribute to its identity: Oaklandon, Fort Ben, Indian Lake, Lanesville, The Pike, Sunnyside, Geist’s Edge and The Ridge. By participating in the Neighborhood Hub, communities will have more opportunities to collaborate, advocate, and enhance their local areas.

Neighborhood groups are encouraged to register today to access valuable city resources and support. To learn more or register, visit www.cityoflawrence.org/content/neighborhood-hub or email NeighborhoodHUB@cityoflawrence.org.
