Martin University hosts event to raise mental health awareness

More by this author

Genesys Solutions will host a mental health event at Martin University May 6 from 5–9 p.m. The event will consist of storytelling, panel discussions and a meet and greet. During the event, attendees will have a chance to hear professionals and individuals discuss their mental health journeys.

Panelists include Marci Grayson, mediation coach, Robert Webster, owner of Gives Me Life, Allen Wright, Kipp High School graduate, and Lejla Pssalic, Bosnian War survivor. The event intends to raise awareness while giving each attendee the gift of hope.

“My son gave me permission a few years ago to share his and my mental health journey with the world but I wasn’t ready for several reasons; however, the time has come to share our journey so that we can continue to heal and help others navigate and embrace a space that is all so often filled with shame and loneliness,” said Beatrice Beverly, founder of Genesys Solutions.

Genesys Solutions is an organization that provides a variety of services, including youth and family skills-based training and community and organization services.

Tickets for this event are $135 and can be found here.

Proceeds for this event will benefit Changing Lives by Supporting Dreams Fund at The Indianapolis Foundation. The funds will provide direct support to individuals and families by addressing hardships and mental health gaps.
