More than 70 veterans will participate in art-making workshops designed to promote healing and community during the 11th annual Veterans Art Day at the Indianapolis Art Center.

āWe love honoring veterans not just around Veterans Day, but all year round. Itās fulfilling to hear from participants about the inspiring ways our programs have benefitted them,ā said Becca Nisenbaum, director of outreach programs.
Each participant will select up to two art-making workshops. They will enjoy lunch with fellow veterans and participants of ArtTroop.
ArtTroop is the Art Centerās free program for veterans that meets twice monthly.
An exhibition of work by the current ArtTroop cohort and alumni opens Nov. 16. Since the program started in 2019, 45 veterans have participated in ArtTroop.

Veterans and members of the Armed Forces who are active or retired from any branch and of any rank and age are welcome to apply for the program.
Funding for Veterans Art Day is provided in honor and memory of Vincent Maxwell, as well as by theĀ Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA). Funding for ArtTroop is providedĀ by the generosity of the LaCrosse family.
The event is Nov. 18 from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Indianapolis Arts Center.
