The Brownsburg Community School Board of Trustees named Ronald Nored as the varsity boys’ basketball coach.

Nored, standout point guard for the Butler Bulldogs, will join the coaching staff of Brownsburg High School after his graduation in May. The education major and two-time Horizon League Academic All-American came to the attention of the Brownsburg community as a teammate of hometown hero Gordon Hayward during Butler’s back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Final Four.

“Of course, we were invested in Hayward, but what made many of us fall in love with the Butler program is the character demonstrated by the team and (Butler coach) Brad Stevens through their culture described as the Butler Way,” said BHS Athletic Director Greg Hill. “Ronald Nored exemplifies that culture.”

It is a culture that Brownsburg looks forward to Nored bringing to the court and to the classroom. According to BHS Principal Bret Daghe, Nored will become one of four graduation coaches at Brownsburg High School.

“I couldn’t be more excited for the Brownsburg community and for Ronald,” said Stevens. “He’s been an absolute joy to coach, and has greatly impacted all of us here at Butler University.  He’s very intelligent and has a high level of passion for the game.  Brownsburg is getting a wonderful person, teacher and coach.”
