Firestone wins global media award at SEMA show

Firestone Industrial Products Company, LLC has received a Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Global Media Award during the 2009 SEMA Show for their new Ride-Rite(tm) LS product.

The Ride-Rite LS product is a tri-tube mono-flow shock absorber that is an ideal upgrade to the company’s Ride-Rite air helper springs. The product is designed to deliver superior performance under a full range of load and temperature conditions. Through a partnership with experts at Rancho(r) – the off-road suspension and shock division of Tenneco Inc. – they have designed the new load adaptive shocks specifically for Firestone air spring applications. By directly connecting the shock absorber to the helper spring, pressure within the air spring is used to automatically control the shock’s performance. This results in low damping when the vehicle is unloaded to deliver a comfortable ride and increased damping when the vehicle is loaded for improved control.

“We are very honored to have our product recognized by leading international journalists and SEMA,” says Todd Green, regional sales manager, Firestone Industrial Products Ride-Rite division. “Firestone is committed to developing and introducing innovative and practical solutions to the global automotive aftermarket.”

Firestone’s Ride-Rite LS shock absorber received its Global Media Award from a voting panel of 28 journalists from leading consumer and trade publications representing 16 countries. The Global Media Awards Program enables SEMA-member companies to gain recognition for their products in worldwide markets.

The easy-to-install Ride-Rite LS product comes complete with air line and “T” fittings, and it is currently available for the following applications: 2001-2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD (part #4353); 2003-2009 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 (part #4350); 1999-2009 Ford F-250 over 8500 GVWR (part #4351); and 1999-2009 F-350 (part #4351).

Firestone’s Ride-Ride LS product is also a key component in R4Tech(tm), a hybrid air/leaf suspension system that comprises a high-quality Firestone air spring and a SANLUIS Rassini(r) leaf-spring suspension positioned in a unique architecture to create a fully functional system that adjusts for varying load capacities.

Firestone Industrial Products Company, LLC, a subsidiary of Firestone Diversified Products, LLC, specializes in air spring manufacturing and technology with a history of more than 70 years of research and development of technologically advanced air springs for the global marketplace.
