More by this author

The Pacers have received the sixth overall pick in the upcoming 2022 NBA Draft after Tuesday’s draft lottery. This will be the team’s first top-10 pick since 1989 when George McCloud was selected seventh overall.

After finishing 25-57 in 2021-22, the Pacers will pick sixth in the draft. The Pacers had the fifth-worst record in the NBA and the third-worst record in franchise history.

Coming in, the Pacers had a 42.1 percent chance to land a top-four pick and a 10.5 percent chance to pick first overall. Indiana had a 19.6 percent chance to get the sixth pick.

The Orlando Magic landed the first overall pick, as they had a 14 percent chance to draft first overall.

The NBA Draft Combine will begin tomorrow at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago. The combine runs from Wednesday to Friday.

The draft will be held on June 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Pacers also hold the 31st and 58th overall pick in the second round of the draft.
