The Indiana Fever has recently acquired center Amanda Zahui B from the Washington Mystics. In exchange for Zahui B, Indiana agreed to trade forward Queen Egbo.
Egbo, beloved in Indiana, put up three points, four rebounds and 0.5 blocks per contest in 16 games this season. Queen Egbo also celebrated her birthday on June 29 with the Fever, one week before the trade to Washington.
Fans took to Twitter to share their displeasure with the trade. Some fans noted that the front office rode themselves off dynamic frontcourt prowess while neglecting the struggling guard play.

Other fans online pointed out Queen Egbo went underutilized due to NaLyssa Smith and Aliyah Boston’s strong, consistent play. Both Smith and Boston rank top 10 in rebounds this season.
Zahui B has played 12 games with the Mystics this season and is averaging two points and 1.4 rebounds in 8 minutes per game.
She was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 WNBA Draft by the Tulsa Shock and has also played for the New York Liberty and Los Angeles Sparks during her eight-year WNBA career.
Indiana Fever general manager Lin Dunn expressed her excitement, stating that “Amanda’s versatility and ability to play the 4 and the 5 spots make her a great addition for the Indiana Fever.”
Egbo will have a chance at revenge when the Washington Mystics and Indiana Fever meet in D.C. on July 7 at 7 p.m. EST.
