Joy: We met at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Tony was a sophomore, and I was a freshman. We met through common friends.

Tony kindly picked me up in his car because I recently had a foot procedure. He helped me get to class, so we had a pleasant conversation in his orange Plymouth Horizon TC3.

What is your favorite thing to do together?

Joy: We love hanging out together, whether we’re on the family room couch watching House Hunters International, traveling to unique places or going to the Tibbs Drive In theatre. We enjoy being together!

What is something that would surprise people to know about your spouse?

Joy: The surprising thing about Tony is that he’s an extreme introvert.

Tony: Her inner strength as a person. She’s also artistic!

What is the best gift your spouse has given you?

Joy: Tony arranged for the construction of my sunroom, which has become my peaceful refuge to read, paint and take a nap.

Tony: She arranged incredible trips to Egypt, Dubai and Mauritius.

How does your spouse support your work?

Tony: Joy supports and encourages me even though I may struggle with various issues on any given day.

Joy: I can always ask Tony for guidance on work related topics. He’s so smart and experienced. Tony is my most trusted mentor.

Joy: Surprise me with beautiful flowers!

Tony: Take care of our family and pull our extended family together.
