Indianapolis Public Schools will require all students and staff to wear masks when school starts Aug. 2, reversing previous guidance that masks were optional for those who are vaccinated.
Superintendent Aleesia Johnson said during a media roundtable July 29 the district was reviewing new recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which says all students and staff should wear masks as the more contagious delta variant of COVID-19 continues to spread.
IPS announced the change later in the day July 29.
