Fashion show raises funds for breast cancer survivors

More by this author

The Pink Ribbon Connection presents the Stars of Pink Fundraiser and Breast Cancer Awareness Fashion Show Oct. 7. During the event, breast cancer survivors will have the opportunity to share their stories and celebrate survivorship as they strut on the runway dressed in the latest fall fashions from local boutique AH Collection and designer J. Benzal Menswear.

The show will raise funds through ticket sales, door prizes and a silent auction to directly support Indiana breast cancer survivors and their families. Additionally, the Indiana-focused nonprofit will honor Barbara Boyd, breast cancer survivor, media icon and community champion.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will support programs and services provided by Pink Ribbon Connection. The organization offers peer counseling offered by breast cancer survivors, breast cancer and wellness-focused education. Monthly information sessions, information packets, and free bras, wigs, hats and prostheses are available for those going through treatment.

The event is Oct. 7 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown. At 11:40 a.m., audience members will release pink balloons to honor the memory of loved ones who have bravely battled breast cancer.
